Show your DRAWERS, Go to Jail - That's the LAW..

Posted on 06:46 by Unknown
The funniest s**t ever, sorry but it is...

I used to stare at guys in wonder when they "swaggered" by, not because of the air of confidence surrounding them, but because I'd be thinking "what's the magical secret to having your pants stay put when they're pulled waaay below the butt cheeks??"

Photobucket

It was always something that fascinated me and unfortunately I never had any friends that sported the fashion, therefore could never get a real explanation or show and tell about the subject matter..

Anyhoo, according to a CBS 12 report and The Smoking Gun, Riviera Beach (Florida) cops have been enforcing a new city ordinance targeting "young
black men" who sag.. I kid you not. Their crime? Exposing their drawers in public.

Ordinance 12-3043 defines violators as those whose pants or shorts exposed between two and five inches of their undergarments. Since the crackdown last month 11 people have been arrested. First time violators of the ordinance face a fine of up to $150. Repeat offenders could be sent to jail for a maximum of 30 days. The irony of it is that jail is where "saggy fashion" started, need I say more?

Below are some mugshots of the offending parties... Notice a pattern??

Anheuser-Busch being sold to InBev for $52B

Posted on 10:40 by Unknown

The maker of the King of Beers has agreed to go to work for the Belgian brewer InBev SA

Anheuser Busch Cos. said early Monday it had agreed to a sweetened $52 billion takeover bid from InBev, creating the world's largest brewer and heading off what was shaping up as an acrimonious fight for the maker of Budweiser and Bud Light beers. Inbev brands include Stella Artois, Beck's and Bass.

The combined company will be called Anheuser-Busch InBev. As of the end of last week, InBev said it would be the world's third largest consumer products company by market capitalization after Procter & Gamble of the United States and Nestle SA of Switzerland.

The Anheuser-Busch board accepted the higher takeover offer Sunday night from Belgian-based InBev, according to a joint press release. The deal is expected to close by year-end.

Random Stuff: Publisher sues Victoria Gotti over book advance

Posted on 22:50 by Unknown
A book publisher has sued Victoria Gotti for the return of an advance she was paid to write a memoir she never delivered.

HarperCollins Publishers LLC says in court papers filed Thursday in New York that the book was due in 2005. Gotti notified HarperCollins last September she was terminating the contract.

The lawsuit says the daughter of the late "Dapper Don" John Gotti and star of the reality show "Growing Up Gotti" did not return the $70,000 advance.

Literary agent Frank Weiman says his client will return the money when he gets her another deal.

Weiman says Gotti made her book deal with former publishing heavyweight Judith Regan and that Gotti canceled because Regan and other editors his client dealt with left HarperCollins.

Japanese woman caught living in man's closet

Posted on 14:29 by Unknown
Sorry, this story is so funny, I was reading this yesterday and burst out laughing just visualizing a tiny woman curled up in this guys closet. Although in all honesty some people's closets are the size of my apartment, had she been living in MY closet, however small she was, she'd still be hanging out in some way or another...

After the fact, the guy said she was "neat and clean", how considerate LOL, lived in his closest without him knowing for a whole year and cleaned up.. He should hire her as his maid..

---

A homeless woman who sneaked into a man's house and lived undetected in his closet for a year was arrested in Japan after he became suspicious when food mysteriously began disappearing.

Police found the 58-year-old woman Thursday hiding in the top compartment of the man's closet and arrested her for trespassing, police spokesman Hiroki Itakura from southern Kasuya town said Friday.

The resident of the home installed security cameras that transmitted images to his mobile phone after becoming puzzled by food disappearing from his kitchen over the past several months.

One of the cameras captured someone moving inside his home Thursday after he had left, and he called police believing it was a burglar. However, when they arrived they found the door locked and all windows closed.

"We searched the house ... checking everywhere someone could possibly hide," Itakura said. "When we slid open the shelf closet, there she was, nervously curled up on her side."

The woman told police she had no place to live and first sneaked into the man's house about a year ago when he left it unlocked.

She had moved a mattress into the small closet space and even took showers, Itakura said, calling the woman "neat and clean."

Hip-hop pioneer `Slick Rick' pardoned by N.Y. gov

Posted on 13:06 by Unknown
New York Gov. David Paterson is granting a full and unconditional pardon to rapper Ricky "Slick Rick" Walters for the attempted murders of two men in 1991.The pardon is expected to halt efforts to deport Walters to the United Kingdom, the country he left as a child.

The eyepatch-wearing star behind the '80s rap classic "La-Di-Da-Di" served more than five years in prison after the shooting of his cousin and another man. Both survived.

The governor says Walters is now a rap artist and landlord in the Bronx who hasn't had any criminal problems since his release from prison in 1997. He also says Walters has volunteered to counsel youths against violence.

ATA closes operations, files Chapter 11

Posted on 11:23 by Unknown
ATA Airlines shut down operations and stranded thousands of travelers Thursday when an unexpected loss of key charter flights and soaring fuel costs forced the carrier into bankruptcy.

Once the nation's 10th-largest air carrier, ATA entered bankruptcy for the second time in just over three years. The company had more than 2,200 employees, and "virtually all" were told that their jobs were gone, company spokesman Michael Freitag said.

Many passengers learned of the collapse at ticket counters, where advisories were posted in the handful of cities ATA still served. About 10,000 passengers flew ATA each day when operations were shut down, according to the airline.

Airlines are struggling with rising fuel prices, labor strife, depressed ticket demand and heightened competition, said George Godlin, an analyst for Moody's Investor Service.

Jackson ranch set for auction

Posted on 08:08 by Unknown
Poor Mike.. I never did tell you about the time I went to the Neverland Ranch huh?? That's another story for another day..

--------

Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch will be put up for sale at a public auction next month unless the pop star pays the £12 million he still owes on the property.

Financial Title Co. filed the notice of trustee's sale with Santa Barbara County Superior Court, setting the auction date for March 19.

If the property does go to auction, the initial asking price could be higher than the £12 million Jackson owes because of interest and other costs.

Everything from the estate's merry-go-round and other carnival rides, locomotives and sculptures, to the curtains and bath tubs would be up for sale.

Porn to spice up cell phones

Posted on 07:23 by Unknown
Why doesn't this this surprise me? What the hell??

---------

If the adult entertainment industry has its way, Americans will soon get a choice of free porn on cell phones -- or at least some photographs of good-looking girls in bikinis.

Unlike in Europe, mobile porn has yet to take off in North America as carriers have been afraid of offending political and religious groups and parents concerned about children being exposed to adult content.

That may change this year as phone companies plan to loosen control on their networks to allow a wider variety of gadgets and services, while introducing new tools to shield minors. More advanced phones with better Web browsers like Apple Inc's iPhone also offer higher quality pictures and video.

"It will be impossible to stop the adult business exploitation of mobile entertainment," said Gregory Piccionelli, a lawyer specializing in adult entertainment at law firm Piccionelli & Sarno.

He predicted that U.S. consumers may soon be offered free porn on mobile phones alongside paid services like live video or "adult dates," a term for prearranged sex with strangers.

A conference being held in Miami this week is devoted to discussing mobile opportunities as the porn industry seeks to find a new driver of growth. A surfeit of free online porn sites has cut into profits that have so far come mainly from DVDs, videotapes and pay-per-view or subscription-based Web sites.

TV star Jeremy Beadle dies aged 59

Posted on 19:06 by Unknown
For the London readers, I'm sure you can relate. I was so upset when I heard about his death, I literally grew up watching this man.. RIP Jeremy Beadle.

-----

TV presenter Jeremy Beadle has died after a short battle with pneumonia, his agent said.

His wife Sue and close friends were at his bedside.

The star, best known for the shows Beadle's About and You've Been Framed, leaves his wife, daughters Cassie and Bonnie, and step children Leo and Claire.

In a statement, Beadle's agent, Nick Canham of MPC entertainment, said: "Our heartfelt condolences go to his wife Sue, his two daughters, Cassie and Bonnie and his stepchildren Leo and Claire. He will be greatly missed."

As a stalwart of ITV for many years, Beadle regularly pulled in television audiences in excess of 15 million for Beadle's About and You've Been Framed.

Beadle, who was 59, was a significant fundraiser for Children with Leukaemia throughout his life and is estimated to have raised more than £100 million for charities of all description. He was awarded an MBE in 2001.

Beadle was diagnosed with cancer in 2005, but never allowed the condition to affect him. Last autumn, he released three new books, and prior to his illness he was working on a series of television formats.

HEATH LEDGER DEAD

Posted on 14:17 by Unknown
Actor Heath Ledger was found dead today in his Broome Street apartment, apparently from a drug overdose.

Ledger, 28, was well known for his role in "Brokeback Mountain," and he stars in the upcoming "The Dark Knight" Batman movie as the Joker.

He split last year from wife, Michelle Williams, with whom he has a daughter, Matilda.

His apartment was strewn with sleeping pills and it was unclear if it was an intentional or accidental death.

His housekeeper tried to wake Ledger up for a massage appointment and found him unresponsive at 3:20 p.m.

She then called paramedics at 3:26 p.m. and father of one was pronounced dead at 3:35 p.m.

Junk food ad ban comes into force in Britain

Posted on 20:24 by Unknown
Good on them, I so could not imagine this out here, but you never know.
---------------

Britain introduced a ban on advertising junk food to under-16s Tuesday, aimed at promoting healthy eating and countering growing child obesity.

The ban, which extends measures already in place for under-10s, will curb television adverts for food and drink products with high fat, salt and sugar content.

Specifically the new measures, agreed last year, will ban adverts for junk food and drink around all programmes of particular appeal to children under 16 years.

According to official data released in October half of all Britons will be obese in 25 years if current trends are not halted; furthermore, 86 percent of men will be overweight in 15 years and 70 percent of women in 20.

Some campaigners say the ban which came into force Monday does not go far enough, calling for a total ban on junk food ads after 9:00 pm.

"We need urgent action to help people, especially children, avoid the less healthy, less happy and, ultimately, shorter life that obesity leads to," said Richard Watts of the Children's Food Campaign.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown launched a new 100-million-pound (205-million-dollar, 145-million-euro) programme in October aiming to increase from two to five the number of hours of physical education in schools per week.

Some 2.3 million pounds has already been set aside in the last 10 years to increase the number of hours of sport in school.

"Passionate" kiss lands art lover in French court

Posted on 12:11 by Unknown
Spotted on Yahoo News, funny stuff…

-----

MARSEILLE, France (Reuters) - A self-professed art lover stood trial on Tuesday accused of kissing a $2-million (986,000 pound) painting while wearing red lipstick and damaging the canvas.

The deputy prosecutor in the southern French city of Avignon accused the defendant, Sam Rindy, of "savagery" for having left a lipstick smear on the work by U.S. artist Cy Twombly, and demanded the court fine her 4,500 euros (3,117 pounds).

The picture's owner, Yvon Lambert, wants $2 million in damages and a further 33,400 euros that he says is needed to pay for the restoration work.

Rindy, an artist of Cambodian origin, has said she was "overcome with passion" when she saw the painting hanging on a gallery wall in July 2007.

"This woman is profoundly upset. She was overcome by an emotion that she could not tame," her lawyers, Patrick Gontard Jean-Michel Ambrosino, told the court, describing the kiss as an "act of love".

Lambert's lawyer rejected this line of defence, saying: "In love, there need to be two consenting people."

Rindy, who is in her 30s, told reporters earlier this year that she thought her lipstick had improved the white, untitled painting.

The court will deliver its verdict on November 16.
